Sílice Blanco is an exquisite aged white wine made with the Palomino, Treixadura, Albariño, Godello, Branco lexítimo and Dona Branca grape varieties by the Silice Viticultores Winery. This is a wine made in the Amandi area by Fredi Torres together with the brothers Carlos and Juan Manuel Rodríguez. It is a wine with a more austere and mineral cut than fruity, a deep wine with a good balance that promises a great evolution, corpulent, with personality and based on a minimally interventionist philosophy in its elaboration.

Sílice Viticultores is a winery created in 2013 by young entrepreneurs who seek to find their origins in the creation of their wines. His philosophy is to recover the vineyards of his ancestors and give them new life, making wines with the least possible intervention. Located in Sober (Lugo), in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, a beautiful area, candidate for World Heritage Site 2021 and an exponent of heroic viticulture, this winery is giving much to talk about beyond our borders, due to the high quality and originality of its wines that demonstrate their “sacred” character, despite being outside the Ribeira Sacra Designation of Origin. The family grows up in the Ribeira Sacra, although Silice Viticultores prefers to go it alone. Without the stamp of the designation, but with the stamp of the place of origin. His red wine Finca Lobeiras, one of the two plots that they bottle separately in Sober, received the Magnum for revelation wine in the latest edition of the Instituto Galego do Viño awards. “Our thing is to go back to our grandfather’s vineyards, to recover the traditional culture of wine from another point of view”, says Carlos Rodríguez. Among them Manuel Verao, owner of the rugged Lobeiras vineyard, from which the award-winning wine comes. “To him corresponds all the merit of the award, he is the one who works the vineyard”, says Fredi Torres. For this oenologist, also based in Priorat and Montsant, it is not enough to make great parcel wines. We must also pay attention to the wines that he defines as “thirsty”. «Basic Silice is very important to me. You don’t just have to make elite wines.
